My love and passion for art goes as far back as I can recall first picking up a crayon or pencil, having an older sister to teach me the simple ways to draw our favorite cartoons at a very young age. Growing up I was what some would refer to as a “comic book nerd”. Being inspired by the art of many comic artists from DC, Marvel, and Image, by the age of 9, I aspired to be an artist rendering original super heroes and villains. I began drawing and copying my favorite characters (of course far from perfect but promising for my age) as well as creating my own. I wanted to be the next Todd McFarlane or Stan Lee.
All people have their dreams and often change “what they would like to be” as did I many times. Most of my art background, aside from tattooing, is self taught as I was an average boy growing up trying to find my way and who I was. My apprenticeship began in 2007 when I was attending a local community college in the Sandhills of North Carolina, majoring in business and religion, at a small town shop in Southern Pines (A.D.I. Tattoo) under a long time veteran to the trade, Jim Januzik. Still holding that love for art and trying to find my place, a strong willingness and admiration for tattooing grew very quickly for me and I began to do whatever it took to build my-self to become the type of artist that I had decided to be.
Although I feel that my strongest style of art is in color, new school, neo tradtional, I am opened to tattooing any style of art as long as there is a concept in mind.
